Same here! I hate most songs after 1999. They are just not music to me anymore.
Wow... Is it just me or is this forum a bunch of bitter old farts or what? Sheesh.
IMO, there is so much fantastic music out there these days, and so much more to be discovered thanks to the Internet... even moreso than my days soaking up underground radio back in the early nineties.
But I guess all musicians just suck now. No scientific explanation why. Perhaps magnetic pole reversal has jacked up the ability for notes to sound correctly or something.
I hate to even mention these two songs, as terrible as they are, because even mentioning the names can cause the most terrible ear worms imaginable. So before you read further, consider yourself warned.
I think Imagine by John Lennon has the worst music. It's up there with Three Blind Mice for music monotony. As soon as I heard it I thought now we know McCartney must have written most of the Beatles music. The lyrics though are fine so it's not the worst song overall, in my opinion. That might go to Honey by Bobby Goldsboro. I can't imagine that he had to sing it every single time he performed because as much as I didn't like it, a lot of people apparently did. Like the Lennon song, it's not the thought behind it, but still, in this case, ugh to the whole thing.
I stopped listening to new music after Boyz II Men faded in the 90s. They were the last performers I remember consistently liking.
