For me, the best funk album is Parliament's Mothership Connection . And Parliament/Funkadelic is the best funk group ever. "Starchild" is the golden standard for a funk song IMO, and every single song on the Mothership album is good, if not great. What is your best-ever funk album?

^ Aw HELL no! Are you trollin' or what, bro? All the great JB songs out there and you pick that?!? Also, I would like to know what people think is the best funk album. Mention a song or songs on it, but not just a song all by itself. And what happened with the formatting there?

Fresh - Sly and the Family Stone. The album is very interesting for a musical standpoint

The Gap Band and Zapp are also favorites.

mikeb- yeah, I like Sly & The Family Stone. Definitely one of the best. Gap Band is cool, too. I'll have to check out Zapp; I'm not familiar with them.

f.2- I haven't heard this before. I like it, thanks for sharing!

I'd actually have to say mothership connection as well actually. It's like an iconic funk masterpiece.

If you don't like this album (at all) you're probably not a funk fan.
