Mikael Akerfeldt gives more in Ghost of Perdition than most bands do in their entire careers.

It's not that new stuff lacks soul... It's just different because everything is crystal clear now. In some Hendrix tracks, you can actually hear him clearing his throat before he sings lol... That's what I mean by soulful... More came through the tracks back then.

First thought I had when reading through this was I bet Dave Davies found Stairway too polished and precious.

What about bands that are current, but sound like they came out of the 70s? Haha... That might be a whole different convo, but check this out... One of my favorites!

Yep, might not be the rock of the 1970s, but music and a lot of other things have changed over the years.

There is still good rock music to be had. It's just not being played on the radio for the most part.

Much better than anything Gene Simmons has ever put out.

Who listens to what Gene Simmons says anyway?
I think he´s been dead since 1983.

That's what I can't understand. Why would anyone care about what he has to say about rock music. His music is awful. I really can't think of a worse band than Kiss in the history of rock music.
