Loved these two bands and often found them to be very similar to each other. My favorite of the two would probably be Toad The Wet Sprocket but I can't even really put into words why I love them more.

Which do you prefer?

Gin Blossoms

Toad The Wet Sprocket

I liked Toad when they first came out. I put in their 2nd CD a few weeks ago in my car having not heard in a few years. I found it terribly boring. Gin Blossoms never really appealed to me - too formulaic.

So I guess my response is: neither.

Both are great, but I probably enjoy the Gin Blossoms a bit more. I'm actually in a cover band that does "Hey Jealousy" and "Fall Down."

I like their 3rd and 5th album the most. Not so much the 2nd album.

Always liked the Toad single "Good Intentions." I prefer it to the 4 or 5 Gin hits I know, but I'm not sure I know any other Toad songs.

You should cover Allison Road too. I bet it would be fun to play.

I'll list some of their hits for those who don't remember all of them.

Gin Blossoms:

Lost Horizons
Mrs. Rita
Hey Jealousy
Found Out About You
Until I Fall Away
Till I Hear It From You
Follow You Down
As Long As It Matters

Toad The Wet Sprocket

Jam
All I want
Hold Her Down
Walk On The Ocean
I Will Not Take These Things for Granted
Fall Down
Something's Always Wrong
Good Intentions
Come Down
Whatever I Fear
Crazy Life
P.S.
