Nice list! It's good to see "Fables" get some love. What a good and weird album, just a unique atmosphere. It sounds like sleep to me.
My list:
The Olivia Tremor Control - Black Foliage
The Zombies - Odessey & Oracle
Dinosaur Jr - You're Living All Over Me
Todd Rundgren - Something/Anything
Television - Marquee Moon
As much as I love Who's Next, I have to say that Quadrophenia is a superior album.
Anyway, here's my Top 5 today. Ask me tomorrow and you might get a different answer:
1.) Quadrophenia by the Who
2.) Who's Next by the Who
3.) Ramones by the Ramones
4.) Are You Experienced by the Jimi Hendrix Experience
5.) White Light White Heat White Trash by Social Distortion

After all these years I have not heard Television.
1) Reckoning, R.E.M.
2) Days of Future Passed, the Moody Blues
3) Combat Rock, the Clash
4) Tim, the Replacements
5) Exile on Main Street, the Rolling Stones

That's a little surprising, given that you obviously know your stuff. 'Marquee Moon' is one of the few albums that was praised to death and actually lived up to the hype. Fully.
Head East--Flat as a Pancake
The Clash--London Calling
Dan Fogelberg & Tim Weisberg--Twin Sons of Different Mothers
Steely Dan--AJA
The Carpenters-Singles [okay, I'm old and sappy-sue me]

Hey Dan, nice list I too like the Carpenters, but their singles album is a compilation, not a studio album.
Mark, excellent choice on Quadrophenia, but as much as I love it, it's a tick below Who's next.
Ok, this is kind of like choosing a favorite child when you love all of them in different ways, but here goes.....
Pink Floyd-Dark side of the Moon
Stones-Exile on Main St
Jeff Beck-Blow by Blow
Eagles-Hotel California
Santana-Supernatural
runners up; Clash-London Calling, Kansas-Leftoverture, BB King/Eric Clapton-Riding with the King, Gypsy-Gypsy, Elvis Costello-My Aim is True, I could go on and on!
