Earlier tonight, I was in a grocery store and Debbie Gibson's "Staying Together" came on. I literally haven't heard that song since the late 80s. It was one of the last hits off of her debut album. Just a few nights earlier, they played her "rival" Tiffany's song "I Saw Him Standing There".

Amazing how you can go to a grocery store and hear a song that you thought was all but forgotten.

For a long time up to about 5 years ago I heard Constant Craving by KD Lang in almost every damn store I went into. Thank God that period ended. However she has been replaced by Clay Aiken's version of Solitaire.

This is the strangest song that I used to hear in stores. In the 1980's I heard this song a lot in record stores. I have no idea why. They played the whole song including the words. I would walk out with "19" in my brain for the next week: 19. 19...

Another one that I heard a lot last 2 years or so, often in Walmart, Howie Day Collide. I didnt remember this song, so I thought it must be a recent song, I dont listen to much of this genre on the radio. Only to find on looking it up, it was from 2003, and featured in a memorable scene from the TV show Lost, which I was heavily into.

Peaceful Easy Feeling, Take it Easy, or Hotel California by the Eagles.

Could live happily if I never hear those songs again.
