Carry That Weight -- just love the sound of it.

Yesterday -- the perfect heartbreak song.

Twist and Shout -- reminds me of my childhood and watching Ferris Buellers Day Off. lol

"Here Comes the Sun." Genius in its sheer simplicity. I love the harmony. I love the lyrics. I love the guitar. Just brilliant.

"Love You To." A rock song with a tabla and a sitar. I love it.

"Get Back." Ok, the Beatles could actually rock when they tried. This song proves it.

This is a tough question. I'm a huge Beatles fan. If you asked me my top 30, I'd have a hard time. Three is almost impossible, but here goes:

She Loves You because it's the first Beatle song I ever heard.

The Golden Slumbers medley because there is clearly a piece of each of the four represented musically.

Free As A Bird / Real Love because so many years after the break-up of the band and the death of John Lennon, there is still great original new music that arrives on the scene ... with the hope that there's even more out there somewhere that we'll get a chance to experience some day.

Charley

P.S. I think that with all the potential posts to come, there won't be a bad song listed. Even Mr. Moonlight has it's moments.

A Day in the Life is my all time favorite song, period. It displays the tag team songwriting of Lennon/McCartney to a tee.

For the same reasoning, I also like I Got a Feeling off the Let It Be album

Yer Blues is my favorite George Harrison whenhewasaBeatle song

I'm Looking Through You and You Won't See Me off Rubber Soul, songs about headgames.

The entire Revolver album from start to finish ...

And post Beatles, I love Harrison's All Those Years Ago ... all 3 remaining Beatles got together and cut it after John was killed. The lyrics are so sad.

Great songs mentioned here. I've Just Seen A Face, Love You To, and Within You Without You are mine. By the time Rubber Soul came out radio stations in the area I grew up still basically top 40 songs with oldies mixed in on the weekends. Rubber Soul changed all that.

My God, only THREE??? Here goes; I hope my keyboard doesn't get away from me...

Penny Lane--the first time I heard that song as a child I was bedazzled by it's simple yet astounding imagery. I didn't know at the time it was called imagery; I was just transported away. Plus, I think the arrangements and style were a true departure from what they had been doing.

Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite--I love the kaleidoscope of music--created by George Martin cutting up tape of a calliope and then spontaneously putting it back together in any way.

I Wanna Hold Your Hand--cheesy probably, but there's such an infectious exuberance in this song. The minute you hear the opening guitar riffs, you can feel their energy.
