From that list... Cannibal Corpse and Obituary. I haven't listened to that stuff since high school. I used to like Entombed and Carcass back in the day. Now I can't really stomach the stuff. I do like to listen to Obituary's World Demise when I'm in traffic.

"Wolverine Blues" by Entombed still gets played regularly on my iPod.
I've never been much into death metal though. Pretty much just that Entombed album and Sepultura's "Beneath the Remains". I guess I like the stuff that was called death metal back then but was really just thrash with a new level of heavy. I see some Black Metal in the OP too. I have a retrospective compilation of Emporer's stuff, and that's all the Black Metal I need.
Oh - and the best true death metal band around is Nile in my opinion.

Agreed. I picked up Napalm Death's Smear Campaign CD a few months ago, its awesome. "When All Is Said And Done" is a great tune.

When all is said and done is an excellent song. In my opinion one of ND's best songs. And i called it For all you metal fans because just saying for all you death metal fans would be misleading. There is Death metal, black metal, blackened death metal, Melodic death metal, technical death metal, brutal technical death metal, thrash and power metal listed, for many big metal fans there are huge differences between the genres. So i just said metal so it wouldn't be misleading! Course there are many more metal bands out there and many more types of metal! Let me know whatcha think guys

I'll have to disagree on Nile, i think they are kinda bland in comparison to their other american counterparts, such as Dying fetus, Deicide, etc.
