I really have a hard time answering this type of question. I can never come up with anything until someone else starts throwing things out there. Anyway, I don't know if they're the greatest, but they're some of my favorites:

KD Lang
Billie Holiday
Louis Prima
Louis Armstrong
Robin Zander
Steven Tyler
Ann Wilson
Bobby Darin
Annie Lennox
Bono
Harry Connick, Jr.

I think I tend to like husky voices a lot. (Add Rod Stewart.)

I'm adding Caterina Valente, famous international singer of the 50's and 60's to the list. She's fabulous.

I know this is about "greatest voices of all time" but I think "honorable mention" should go to these as the most distinctive....

Axl Rose

Stevie Winwood

Geddy Lee

Tom Jones (Hot damn! Gotta find me a Welshman )

More to come....

I can list many but the # 1 voice to me is elvis Presley. He had a tremendous voice. My favorite elvis song is his 1969 #1 hit Suspicious Minds. When elvis died on aug 16 1977 he had 5 million in the bank. Today the elvis estate is worth over 300 million. My favorite period of elvis hits is from the late 60s till his death in 1977. I someday hope to visit grace land in Memphis.
