So the clues for 159 are:

Clue #1: The group was the opening act for Maurice Williams and The Zodiacs.
Clue #2: void clue number 1.
Clue #3: This group was as popular as Mel Carter. Therefore if Mel Carter's hit (#160) was solved in under an hour the same should be said of #159.
Clue #4: A pop group from the early 1960's.
Clue #5: If you have ever watched any of the PBS specials on TV (or in person) you have seen this group on stage and think "Asbury Park."

Glad you found a workaround, Howard.

Workin' on it, but no joy so far. Sounds slightly familiar, but I'm not altogether sure that I know it.

Concentrating on the clues may be somewhat more beneficial than the "ending" of the tune. I had never heard the ending of the tune myself. I had heard the song but it was on PBS and the ending was different.

Asbury Park + early 1960's = strong clue.

Well Frankie Valli referring to Asbury Park when introducing the group was misleading.
Sorry...........

Jersey City
was the origin of the original group.

They have actually performed at Asbury Park this year.

No one knows this group it seems or the clues are not connecting.

I'll post the tune tomorrow if no one gets it.

Clue:
Your wife for males or husband for females (or significant other)
should be -- --- ---- ----
- = number of letters in the word.

#161 will be for Toosie.

Well 159 is yours for the taking William since no one else has gotten it. I've searched the clues and they are not good ones. I'll just post the tune sometime tomorrow.

I have a doozie ready for toosie.

Sorry, but I've been totally stumped. And which is why I have been so quiet.

I can guess who have never heard of the group.
