Thank goodness we've gone into the wayback machine:
jiminnm: Think about your comment above and this: We are not going way back but almost way back.
Dear those with an almost unlimited memory as far as music and the sharpest of ears. I do not expect this one to be solved without clues (unless there is a hidden clue above). No it won't be a record (0.195) since it's 1.9 seconds but in this case the extra 1.805 seconds may not do you any good. I used the word case. Maybe case can solve this one if no one else can.
Well, since I was summoned.....
Only one bell took place at the beginning of the following tune, and that was the bell in Howard's clue (which he played twice).
Here it is.... Chantilly Lace - Big Bopper
That's it and during the creation of the video I did not see the audio on the audio line so I re-added the audio again. Technical error but still one that may have stumped a few people. Not a musical instrument but rather a ringing telephone. And I'm not aware of another song with such a sound.
The clue about way back was that Rick Nelson (Stood Up) was 1957. Jiminnm had stated way back.
Since Chantilly Lace was in 1958 only one year after that is why I said "almost" way back. 1958 is almost as far back as 1957. Weak clue they may have not been of any help.
Onward to an unknown part of the music fault for another one. Let me ponder the three decades and then pick one.
