I initially thought that could be Western Union by the Five Americans, but I don't think so. The problem now, however, is I can't get that song out of my head.

You can not get Western Union out of your head?

A huge clue appears on the previous 2 pages.

That's the one. da-da-da-dah, over and over and over. I'll have to get it out of there before I look over the prior two pages.

You can omit any posts about Simon and Garfunkel and their top hit.

As usual, I'm running late! Bad week at the house, furnace repair time. UGH!

OK, me thinks it's by the Magic Lanterns, titled "Shame Shame." Released around Oct. '68.

By golly, you've got it!

So what I took to be a generally obnoxious comment in Howard's post #189 was a clue. I had no idea. But I never would have gotten it, anyway. The song was just too far back in my mind.

But I love that song! Haven't heard it or even heard of it for years - decades, really. Takes me back to my early days in Omaha, just getting to know a new town, having moved there that summer.

Thanks, HH.

Yes Shame (on you) was half the title.

HH:
Remember the Bridge Over Troubled Waters and how it was on your top 10 list?
After The Gold Rush-Neil Young
A Question Of Balance-Moody Blues
Cosmos Factory-CCR
Then Play On-Fleetwood Mac
Deja Vu-CSNY
Ecology-Rare Earth
Nantucket Sleighride-Mountain
Live At Leeds-Who
Bridge Over Troubled Water-Simon and Garfunkel
3-Blood Sweat and Tears

I posted a few seconds of the ending of that song but your ears were trained on the introduction so someone else solved that one. So as a minor trick came back with the next one being a few seconds of the introduction of the same song.
