No I never said #1 1978. The clue that came from the HH was lady = Olivia Newton John.
There is an active forum for aviation. You'll find people there to discuss the aviation industry from the Wright Brothers forward.
And top of the mornin' to you, too, Howard.
The responsibility for the brief, but nonetheless verboten, mention of a WWII war-bird to my friends here is all mine, certainly not at all Mofford's. As you said before you edited your comment, it is off-topic and thus I'm sure many others were just as shocked and annoyed as you were to see it here. An inexplicable lapse on my part....for which I can only offer my apologies and assurances that it will never happen again.
You'd think my recent 30-day self-infraction from posting in this thread would have taught me something. I guess I'm in incurable sucker where classic hits and the camaraderie of great people are concerned.
I do not think this one can be identified but we can try it. It's 0.194 seconds.
Maybe a case type sound?
It plays a little louder on my computer making it more slightly recognizable by someone who has heard the song many times. Lower volume here it seems.
Also there is a reason why the times were blotted out. That in itself is a weak clue.
World records do not count if clues have to be given. If case or others do not get it I'll extend the audio by more fractions of a second until someone gets it.
Shame on you for hacking into my music folder for the solution.
Amazingly amazing.
Here are the record holders for clips under 0.200 seconds.
maiden_fern holds the instrument record at 0.197 seconds.
CrownVic95 holds the instrument record at 0.196 seconds.
CrownVic95 holds the vocal record at 0.196 seconds.
CrownVic95 holds the vocal record at 0.195 seconds.
mofford holds the instrument record at 0.194 seconds.
I've looked through the nicer trophies and you already have them except this one.
You are not required to tell us where in the song the 0.194 clip was heard.
I would have wagered it would not be solved.
We may be approaching the downside limit. It's somewhere between 0.001 and 0.193 seconds.
And calling it seconds is not proper since it is 194 thousands of one second.
Oh thank you Howard, I'm feeling more powerful than Alexander Haig right now, the blood is rushing to my head. How can I ever hope to top this great victory? Only when you've been in the deepest valley (youngbloods fail), can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountaintop. No, I did not hack Howard's files, I've earned everything I got, let me make that perfectly clear.
I hope you all will continue to support me, as I strive for excellence in the field of song collage. I hope to be opening offices and sound studio in Chicago later this summer, all business contracts and proposals shall be handled by my new manager, Jeff Lynne.
I had hoped to add a couple more paragraphs about chiggers, but don't want to overstep my authority.
I would also like to thank Dick Youngs (The Old Youngster), former DJ of radio station KIOA, whom used to play Hang On Sloopy just about every day for 20 years in a row.
Thank You maiden fern and square peg! Howard, next time you post that list, I would appreciate it if you could list the winners from top to bottom, not bottom to top, just a suggestion, thanks.
Mofford Award Ceremony (special thanks to Edd Kalehoff, whom I will collaborate with on future projects)
