Not only did I have no idea what it was, I was convinced I had never heard the sound in that clip. Black Is Black is one of my favorites and I know it well....at least I would have said so prior to this. I wouldn't have thought anyone could slip a clip like this past me that came from a solid favorite that I know well. Now I know differently.
I can hear the windup to that final note quite clearly in my head. I just couldn't hear it when it mattered. Congrats, case!
And a confession re. this particular number: I used to think the singer was Gene Pitney. Even after I learned it was Los Bravos, I just figured, oh - Gene put a band together...

Now that you mention it, he does sound like Gene Pitney!

Yes of course.
It was my understanding that Los Bravos vocals spoke no English and to perform the song they had to learn the words and the pronunciation. Maybe true maybe not.
