I was almost sure enough to guess Hey Paula for #350, but Howard's already done that one twice before. It clearly sounded like "Hey" to me, but I'm sick of him using that same song over and over so I passed, lol.
Thanks guys. That one was just a matter of who got to it first....an easy one that we all knew. It's kinda nice to have an easy one after a pretty tough string.
The reference to Early in the Morning on the video took my memory back to that song....one I haven't heard for most of 50 years. I didn't remember who the artist was, but didn't think that it was Vanity Fare. So I took a listen to the (Vanity Fare) song and discovered that I didn't think it was Vanity Fare because it's not! Not the one I'm remembering and liked.
I do remember the Vanity Fare version, but never paid any attention to it because it is so boring and bland. I considered Hitchin' a Ride only marginally better than that. It never grabbed me either.
But there was another Early in the Morning song - in mid '69, if I'm remembering correctly. An altogether different song, a better song. I mean, I wasn't wild about it or anything and never bought the record, but never turned it off when played on the radio. A quick search does not find it, but what the heck was it?
It's possible, I suppose, that that wasn't the title, but it did have that line in it prominently. So now it's haunting me and will 'til I track it down. Anyone have any ideas?
Edit: It's not the Peter, Paul, and Mary version either.

Good job CV. I now remeber that song, but it must have been filed away in an unretreivable place.
It's hard to beat Jethro Tull for rock and roll flute.
