I was born in 1969, so I remember 9 songs. Not familiar with the Charlie Rich song, tho. I still listen to some of the songs because they're in my iTunes playlists.

I remember all of them - I did a lot of radio listening in the 70s going thru my teenage years. The Charlie Rich song was a surprise, didnt think it was a Number One.

Both Melanie's number one song and that Pina Colada song are dreadful,
how they ever were big hits is beyond me....yuck.
Justin Bieber sounds good to me after those duds.

Smokey's December 1970 hit "Tears of a Clown" was not a "new" song,
it was originally a song on his 1967 album....then mysteriously released as a single
3 years later.

Always liked Charlie Rich's "The Most Beautiful Girl" .... nice song.
