Their are some impressive well made Pink Floyd DVD concert or studio videos out there - Live at Pompeii from the 70's, PULSE, Delicate Sound of Thunder. If you are a Floyd fan you need to check them out.
I saw them in concert about 10 years ago in the Lapse of Reason tour.
Syd Barret - lest we forget! Hey he died just this year didn't he?

Best Album - Meddle
Best Song - "One of these days (I'm going to cut you into little pieces)". What a title.

Ummm.....I don't doubt your fanhood there, chief, but the "Momentary Lapse of Reason" tour was in the 80's. Even "The Division Bell" tour, which came after that, was almost 15 years ago.

Well what's 10 years? You're right, I had a momentary lapse of reason if you will - and I still have the ticket stub (I have a collection) - Saturday April 30th, 1988, Citrus Bowl, rain or shine, $20. It was raining like crazy unfortunetly, for an outdoor stadium concert. It was in 2 parts with a break in the middle as I remember. First half was almost all the songs from the most current album, second half was all the old hits.
Good enough, errrr, Chief?

Yeah, good enough. $20......those were the good ol' days indeed. You can't even park for $20 anymore.

It was unfortunate about Syd. Diabetes can be a very unforgivable disease if untreated. I read that he was blind the last few months of his life. I read in different rock related magazines that the members of the band had a good relationship with him all those years, and would check up on him from time to time making sure he was ok. I'll always credit him with having a hand of getting the group going.

Oh, thats a tough question, I love Floyd, I seen them on The Division Bell Tour, and that was fun, we had all the right supplies. Anyway, I'll give you a couple, Young Lust, Comfortably Numb, Brick in the Wall, Hey You....and more..

I always got a kick out of the Floyds' real off the wall early stuff, such as Corporal Clegg off the second Tower LP, Absolutely curtains which closes out Obscured By Clouds, songs that the unfamiliar Floyd listener would go "Huh"?? Razzel, you're the Floyd expert here, what's the story on those songs? Any idea?

Quite an observation, and quite an admission from Richard Wright. It`s an extract from his very informative interview [from 96] on the Brain Damage site...

How do you view those early Pink Floyd records?
"I cringe at some of my songs - such as Remember A Day. We were pretty amateurish at the time, but I don't think it was just my stuff that doesn't sound so good now. Something like Corporal Clegg, which was one of Roger's songs, is just as bad. Syd was the songwriter and then we came in and had to take over the song writing and it was a lot of responsibility to assume. We could never write like Syd, we never had the imagination to come out with the kind of lyrics he did."

Strange thing is I`ve always liked Remember a Day...Now it turns out the guy who wrote it is hinting that it`s crap! Ahh well. Que Sera..

I am a Floyd fan from way back. But what probably strikes me the most is the Animals album. You listen to Sheep and it's simply brilliant. Pigs on the Wing is excellent and Pigs (Three Different Ones) is a real slam at corporate big business. But by far the best song is Dogs. It still knocks me out. The acoustic guitar work on this album is top notch.
