The Pointer Sisters' "Fire" is a version of the Bruce Springsteen tune. I read that he had written it with Robert Gordon in mind, but the Pointers recorded and released it first.
Both of these "Point of No Return" songs were #1 dance hits, Expose' in 1985 and Nu Shooz in 1986. Very similar 80s genero-dance, very different lyrics.
There are other songs with the same title, notably by Carole King (covered by Elvis Costello) but none were as popular. The Kansas track from the album of the same name was "Point of Know Return".
