John Barry ....did some 60s James Bond moves,
including my fave soundtrack music "On Her Majesties Secret Service" (1969),
love the music during the "ski chase", very cool.
John Barry is anything but overlooked or forgotten. He's most known for those Bond movies, and Dances With Wolves, perhaps, but here's my favorite score of his.
Dimitri Tiomkin, was an exceptional composer, with at least 4 Oscars under his belt. But I still don't think he is remembered with quite the same kudos/respect as his contemporaries.
Classic films such as:-
55 Days in Peking
Guns of Navarone
Dial M for Murder
High Noon
It's a Wonderful Life

Agreed but also:

The Old Man and the Sea
Red River
The Sundowners
The Unforgiven
The War Wagon
