Okay, with the new wave of Superhero movies, comes new music. But which superhero, past and present? has the best theme? As in what music from a film or television really captures the essence of the hero?
For awhile I would have had to say "Batman" by Danny Elfman:
I mean it starts slow and ominous...and then rises in tempo (as if he is rising from the shadows) and then IT'S ON. It is dark, haunting, and sweeping and really captures the essence of the Dark Knight.
Say what you will about old vs new Batman films, but the music was better in the Tim Burton days IMO
But that was until last year...when "Batman vs Superman" came out, which was "meh,"...until Wonder Woman came out, along with her most lethal weapon, which is of course, her music.
No build up, just BAM! You hear contemporary, classic, and primitive all at the same time. Classic instruments, contemporary guitars, and the "primitive" drums that sound like they are being beaten by Amazon warriors on their way to battle. It really captures the essence of the Amazon queen, created by Zeus, kicking tail in modern times.
I agree with the Wonder Woman sentiment. I love the music.
Sounds badass and every time I watch Dawn of Justice and hear her theme music I get more stoked for her stand alone (only about 50 days now...)
I don't know how long this song will stay up before it is yanked by the agents of P*****, but I would say that this one is my favorite. Especially the bridge in the song at 2:46 and the guitar solo preceding it.
Also, P*****'s agents should reconsider yanking his videos from youtube because I would think that hearing his songs on youtube would promote his music and that there are a lot of people who would buy his music after hearing it.
