Hi. Haven't been in the music section in a long time and only briefly in past. Have something I want to try out though. I'd like to get suggestions for interesting rock or electronic music videos mostly beyond the mainstream.

I am looking for cool vids, so no audio only and generally not straight song performance videos. I like videos with places, ideas, changing colors & rhythms and good / unusual editing.

I will probably have a second thread later of my recommended interesting music videos which could include some of the discoveries of vids I like from here.

Want to give it a try? I am fairly open-minded about genres within rock and electronic. Some of the genres I'd prefer folks to make suggestions in would be: grunge, goth rock, trip-hop, psychedelic rock (that rocks, not just floats), 60s /70s hard rock / classic metal, industrial, chill, garage rock, surf, lounge, spy, synth pop, shoe-gaze, riot girl, power-pop, symphonic metal, dark ambient, dream pop, new wave, dark wave, female fronted rock / metal, ethereal wave, stuff that is purely instrumental or features female voices. I am willing to consider some other genres like dark cabaret, americana, rockabilly, etc. if they are truly great music videos AND (probably) have female voices.

Let's see what people offer. I'll fine-tune my request scope as needed. Thanks for the offerings. I'll probably offer my opinions. We may or may not have the same tastes, which is fine. This is intended to help me find new stuff that I might like.

I'll re-emphasize that the video has to be interesting / good. There are great songs that come in not particularly good or interesting videos. I am hoping for strong songs in a quality video. Unusual is ok for the try but very violent or completely depressing I'd prefer not to watch. Sexy is generally good. Humorous could be ok if clever and not forced / too silly.

Music videos are often throw-away / forgettable and repetitious, but they can also be great modern art. Sound & vision. Know some lesser-known great ones? Post the vid link.

L8G... Thanks for the offerings. The third one is probably the most visually ambitious. If anyone else likes any video or wants to comment, feel free to do so. Lots of styles & artists to go round.

Sluggo... attractive singer, good voice but sounds like pop to me. I prefer rock.
