Seeing I've been listening to heavy metal my entire 57 years, I'll stick with it. I thank the Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin in 1970 for taking me down the metal path.

It would be a tough choice between prog and indie, but would have to go with indie because there is so much new stuff coming out all the time.
