In an industry known for its egos and excesses, Malcolm Young quietly stood in the back, literally, of one of rock's most successful bands, and may well be rock's greatest rhythm guitarist. He didn't want to be in the limelight, instead writing some of rock music's most iconic songs.
Sad to hear this. He contributed much to rock music along with the band. He will be greatly missed.
AC/DC's music was one which was not only distinctive but for me and maybe others, put one in a good mood when listening personally or just hearing while out and about. No wild guitar solos, complex arrangements or time signatures needed-just straight up rock that got your attention and kept it.

Not sure about “no wild guitar solos”....Angus Young is known to have ripped a few stinging,
raw powerful solos ...like in their epic song “There there Be Rock” (1977)...40 years ago
that song primal, savage,
AC/DC at their best. Malcolm holding it all together with his rock solid rhythm guitar, usually
playing that old Gretsch through vintage Marshalls.
AC/DC music very distinctive and Malcolm was a big part of that, as was their producer,
older brother George who died recently.
When I was younger, my teens/twenties, my BF at the time would refer to getting his "DD," "daily dose," of AC/DC. Will be part of my life forever. RIP, and thank you, Malcolm.
