Hey there Big Swede, is there still a punk scene in the Northern parts of Sweden? We heard about it now and then back in the 80's as of the incredible hardcore you guys made overthere, but that's a long time ago
There´s still a quite active scene in the north. I live just south of the arctic circle and in the major city in the area I am sometimes involved in an alternative house of culture which is run by the local punks.
This gang of punks have been arranging shows regularly since 2003, although some of us has been in the scene since the early 90s. We have had bands from just about all over the world, except Australia and Africa. Even legends like M.D.C., Mob 47 and Terveet Kädet has played here.
Here is a bunch of 15 year old straight edge kids from Kiruna in Lapland doing there first show on our stage:

Great!! Not bad at all for a bunch of 15 year olds!
So the straight edge is still going strong? Over here too I think. I hear about the Dutch Straight Edge scene now and then but never was into it. When that started I was already out of the whole scene. But I like it. At least a way better and healthy lifestyle then we had, LOL
I was in Sweden last summer and heard about there's a lot of festivals in the North during the summer. We wanted to go there, but it turned out to take too long of a drive to get there. Maybe next time, cause I'll definitely be back to your beautiful country
