I'm more of a Death/Brutal Death/Technical Death/Black Metal fan. Though i like some older styled black metal that has some punk influence (carpathian forest, DarkThrone, etc). Hardcore.....not really lol. The only hardcore band i kinda like is Terror, more old school styled hardcore with strong thrash influences. Personally I'd rather listen to bands like Necrophagist, Deicide, Dying Fetus, Cattle Decapitation, etc.

The Clash, Ramones, and The Sex Pistols are what true punk is all about. With very few exceptions Punk has not really existed since 1986.

Sorry dude, but usually the people who say things like this do not listen to punk or have anything to do with punk. Discussing the "true meaning" of punk has definitely been a low point in the history of internet discussion.

I mean, I like all three of those bands to varying degrees, but you're saying that signing to major labels and selling millions of records is punk?

Anyways, BigSwede, I'm into punk/hardcore. Namely Oi!, early HC and so-on. I think there's a couple people here who kind of/sort of are into punk, but that's about it.
