"Simply......having....a WONderful Christmas time....."
This is Exhibit A for me as to why Paul McCartney as a Beatle is light years ahead of him as a solo artist.

Love Bob Rivers. Adds a bit of silliness to the too serious or too cheesy songs.

I miss the parody holiday songs, one of the local FM morning shows used to play them all the time in the 80s and early 90s. All of the Bob Rivers ones, Frosty the Bluesman, I Am Santa Clause Sabbath style, Elmer Fudd singing Blue Christmas, Cheech and Chong, ...never hear these any more unless on Youtube.

Agree, pretty bad for a guy who wrote songs like Yesterday, Let It Be, and Hey Jude.

Really bad....both the lyrics and music are equally bad.

This. I can't describe how sick I am of that song.

Some of his solo stuff was pretty good, but I suspect he wrote that particular song in about an hour, and went out of his way to try to make it sound "Christmas-y," and probably never thought they'd still be playing it 30+ years afterwards.

My son rather liked that when he was young because he thought the woman was singing f**king pie. LOL I remember when he whispered in my ear to tell me that the lady was saying a bad word.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

One of the worst. Too sappy.

Feliz Navidad. One vapid trite line in English and another in Spanish, repeated over and over again. And the only new song added to the standard Christmas repertoire since the 1950s. Indicative of the general bankruptcy of artistic creativity

Default 100 Worst Christmas Songs Rated

Here's a funny column in the WaPo about 100 Christmas songs as compiled by the WaPo resident satirist.

Excerpt: "...I am taking the liberty of going through the 100 holiday songs being foisted upon us everywhere and ranking them from Most Especially Heinous to Best. This is probably a good idea, and I feel fit and confident! I bet this will be an easy, pleasant process. I’m amazed I haven’t already compiled several lists just like this!"
