I feel when a new album comes out I listen to it streaming if I like it but then stop even if it's good I read about it read reviews then revert back to my older music.

In the nineties when I bought a CD I listened to it all the time.

Am I the only one that feels like new music comes and goes and disappears?

This is a great post and one that I can relate to a lot.

I was thinking tge exact same thing the other day.

I will never ever have the same emotional attachment I had to bands before streaming.

For me to go pick a cd at a store was the ultimate adventure. I’d spend 1 to 2 hours easily at a store, browsing, checking out cd covers, track listings, etc.

So if I bought a cd that I liked it felt like sweet victory and I would get so attached to the band because it felt like I owed it to the band the fact that the money I spent, was well spent.

But now, I just have so many options, so many music at my disposal, that I just have music ADD.

I have tons of records saved on my library that I have probably listen to 1 to 3 songs of each. If you would have told me in the year 2003 that I was only going to listen to 1 or 2 songs of a new A Perfect Circle record, I would have destroyed you; but that is exactly where I am today.

I try to discover new bands, but I always resort back to my old records.

It’s a shame and it’s like a part of me that is no more.

Yes, 1990s CD shopping was a great time.

I guess I will need to subscribe now and make sure I keep playing music on supported apps (Brave Browser is not yet) but this show my listening from 2018. I have been using this site since 2008, it tracks everything. I do see my all time favs tend to be from the 90s.
