Sounds a bit 'heavy' these days, but in my 20's when there had been nothing but the Dolmetsch ensemble and the Jaye consort, this was a revelation.

Going to have to crave a few more indulgencies here. But posting David Munrow's dance band made me think of this:

Reminds me of the time I learned the Er-hu and actually played in Chinese ensemble Once. (I guess my face didn't fit) I suppose I was fascinated by the instruments and their sound. Pretty dresses, too
