Given all the practice I have done and Chopin I have studied , to preform this piece "only" would have been worth it.

Franz Listz, student of Chopin was at social gathering in his senior years. Was asked to play something by a nervy guest. It was of all, this above piece he played, the last of his public
preformance, and no one was the same person leaving.

A remarkable piece of music, certainly not , of this world.

If someone could find that would be nice....my computer is for the birds
Is this you by chance?

For me, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Ravel, Bartok, Bach are the main staple. I listen to a few pieces here and there from many other composers, too many to list.

I'm not all to keen on Baroque, except for Bach, and I only like a few pieces of Mozart's work. I left out a few of the usual suspects just cause everyone seems to use them as the default when asked if they listen to classical, Chopin and Beethoven.

Been trying to get a recording of this, so fantastic! I believe this performance was done at the Liszt competition.

Question Hugo Colin - any information?

I just heard an aria sung by this young tenor. I've checked through all the classical music sites I can think of and found no info on him. Would anyone know of him and have information on his career? thanks ~

PS: ^^^ beautiful!

I fully regret not having mention Shostakovich and Prokofiev, how could i forget. Shostakovich being one of my favorites, I-am-ashamed.

And also, I prefer concertos, chamber music, and solos over symphonies; I don't know, symphonies are a bit much except for Shostakovich, I find his symphonies to be absolutely beautiful.

anyway, here's Prokofiev - Piano Concert No.3 - Pianist Martha Agerich

An amazing pianist, to say the least.

In honor of "The Star Hustler" Jack Horkheimer who passed away on Friday. This is Isao Tomita's electronic version of Claude Debussy's Arabesque No. 1, that was used as the theme to Jack's weekly public TV segment.
