Crazy to me that Rundgren is not in already, though who knows how these things work. He had an insane run of greatness from about 1967 (Nazz) through about 1975.

I only know the two "big" T Rex albums (Electric Warrior & The Slider) but they are both perfection.

Depeche Mode, Motorhead, Whitney Houston, Notorious BIG seem like 100% locks to get in.

I think there are 5 bands/artists per year that get in.

So, if ***I*** were in charge:
MC5
Thin Lizzy
Todd Rundgren
Doobie Brothers
Judas Priest

I can see cases for all these acts. My guess on who is most likely to get in (assuming 5 electees) FWIW:

Doobie Brothers
Todd Rundgren
Nine Inch Nails
Whitney Houston
Dave Matthews Band

Glad to see T. Rex. Marc Bolan died way too young. He was headed for superstardom. You either loved his lyrics or hated them.

I guess the term "Rock and Roll" is used rather liberally in this case.

This has pretty much been the “Popular Music since the 1940s” Hall of Fame for a long time now.

Doobie Brothers should be in already.

Depeche Mode should be in already.

They don't put many metal bands in - but I would vote yes on Motorhead, IMO one of the best of the genre.

Doobie Brothers
T Rex
Todd.

I don't care much for the rest. They're okay but hardly worthy.

I love how simple and effective his lyrics were. Seems like it should be easy to do but it's clearly not. I listened to The Slider this weekend and it was so great.
