Ok, got one here. Everyone has a favorite artist that cut an album that for whatever reason, did not sell, be it poor promotion by the label or whatever. What are those releases? I'll open it up to all genres of music.

Hootie and the Blowfish's second album "Fairweather Johnson", came out too soon. The bands first album was still spinning out singles and selling copies. It did sell around 2 million but did not have a huge hit come out of it.

It's probably the best album they did, although, the way the album was recorded makes many feel it was not a true BOC album.
They had guest performances by Joe Satriani and Aldo Nova, to name a few.

The first artist that comes to mind is Chris Whitley.

His first album was a label creation. His second record Din of Ecstasy is one of my favorites of the 90's and the record label totally ignored it.
