Two great songs from 1966 came from Arthur Lee and Love- "My Little Red Book" and "7 and 7 Is".

I've heard "7 And 7 Is", and it is indeed great. I've not heard the other.

Here's another couple of good 60's songs. The video for the first one may not be "work appropriate", but the song rules!

I personal like the song "Softly To Me" on Love's first album ...it was written and sung by their lead guitarist ...it has a mellow '60's vibe

"Softly To Me" is a good one as well. Two of my favorite Beach Boy songs from the early part of 1966 just didn't get the airplay they should have; "She's Not The Little Girl I Once Knew" and "Caroline, No." Both were released on 45 and sadly did not chart high.

Well, the Betty Page video was pretty nifty! Thanks Jickler! Never heard of Floyd whatshisname, though.

Gotta agree with you HH. '66 SHOULD have been a great year for the Beach Boys. Artistically, it certainly was.

Default What is your favorite songs 1960's

I loved the 1960's as it probably was one of the most interesting decades, so diverse with the hippie generation and with the great music from great artists. So what is your favorite song from the 1960's?

Just so you know, I'll come up with a different list next time as there's no way I can name just a few favorite tunes from the '60s:

8 Miles High -- The Byrds
Like a Rollin' Stone -- Bob Dylan
Street Fighting Man -- The Rolling Stones
Dear Prudence -- The Beatles
Substitute -- The Who
This is Where I Belong -- The Kinks
Don't Make Me Over -- Dionne Warwick
Rock & Roll -- The Velvet Underground
DCBA 25 -- Jefferson Airplane
Hurdy Gurdy Man -- Donovan
