Ellie Goulding's Burn and an almost identical song from another contemporary singer are representative of this kind of artistic decline.

What is the other song, google didnt provide any info. I dont listen to much pop music anymore.

I don't think its that bad, in fact I might grow to like it. Though it is very generic sounding among todays pop songs. Lyrics are rather banal but that tends to be a thing with pop songs. Song is much less irritating and way more listenable than many songs by contemporary female pop singers, like Meghan Trainor or Katy Perry or Nikki Manaj.

I can't deal with Nicki Minaj, but I like Meghan Trainor and Katy Perry and Lily Allen.

Pop music is more science than art.
