Do you want to know if we know the song or do we know of the show Bowie played the song on?

I was never really a fan of David Bowie but I can't say anything bad about him. I was probably too young to watch talk shows in 74 let along Dick Cavett.

No matter it was the good ol days. Ain't no argument there.

I think the only Dick Cavet show I ever watched was when he had Alfred Hitchcock on. I dont remember too many music guests.

I guess your a fan of David Bowie since your asking.

That was a great live performance! I have to admit that I kept waiting for Bowie's guitar to fall from his back. I don't believe that I ever saw that particular Cavett show before.

Actually, Dick Cavett had many musical guests during his show's 5 year run - Jefferson Airplane, Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Sly and the Family Stone, David Bowie, Janis Joplin, Stevie Wonder, George Harrison, Tex Ritter, Gary Wright and Paul Simon among them. John & Yoko were perhaps his most notable musical guests as the Beatles breakup was discussed at length in 1971 while it was still a very hot topic. In '72 he performed Woman Is The N****r Of The World on the show. JL: "The only people having a problem with the song are white males."

Cavett was one of the best late night hosts. His interviews were second to none.
