I would nominate Love, Reign O'er Me From Quadrophenia, by the Who.

I have to add the song by Madonna ''Stay'' as the closer on the 'Like a Virgin' album.

Day in the Life : Sgt Pepper (Beatles)
This is a Low: Parklife (Blur)
Desolation Row: Hwy 61 Revisited (Dylan)
Can't Hardly Wait: Pleased to Meet Me (The Replacements)
Down in the Tube Station At Midnight: All Mod Cons (The Jam)

Also thinking that See That My Grave Is Kept Clean is a great closer for Dylan's self-titled 1962 album. This one also contains Highway 51 Blues and Man of Constant Sorrow.

Great bravery in front of the coming death!
Wholeheartedly agreed.

In addition to that, here are a few of mine:

"Where The River Goes" -- Stone Temple Pilots, Core

"Damage, Inc" -- Metallica, Master Of Puppets

"New Way Home" -- Foo Fighters, The Colour and the Shape

"Ashes In Your Mouth" -- Megadeth, Countdown to Extinction

"Fight the Power" -- Public Enemy, Fear of a Black Planet

"Jamming" -- Bob Marley, Legend (I realize this was a "greatest hits" album, but I think it sums the man and his music up perfectly.)

"Won't Get Fooled Again" -- The Who, Who's Next (yes, there was a time when this song reminded me of everything that was right about rock and roll and not about David Caruso's terrible acting)

Warren Zevon "My Ride's Here"

I was staying at the Westin
I was playing to a draw
In walked Charlton Heston
With the tablets of the law
He said "It's still the Greatest Story"
I said "Man I'd love to stay
But I'm bound for glory
I'm on my way
My ride's here"
