Elvis would have been 74 today.
Is there anyone else that thinks Elvis was somebody that just wasn't suppose to be old. Several older singers like Wayne and Tony Bennett or even Frank seem okay older. I just don't think Elivis was suppose to be old. He was the King RIP

Elvis has a long lasting appeal that is undeniable. Thirty years plus after his death his music is played as much as ever on the radio. His CD's still sell well, particularly the '56 to '59 stuff. Hobby wise, clean copies of original press vinyl are holding their own in price.

stars who die young tend to freeze in time Elvis, Buddy, Jim, Jimi, etc. I couldn't imagine what they would be like now or even look like. Some who we all knew young have had dramatic looks changes from aging.
Yes, Elvis was 74 (OMG!) thursday. I will never forget his birthday. Same as my daughters who turned 16 yesterday!

I would have hated to hear of him in the poor house owing money to the IRS etc. Priscilla really turned that estate around. I am glad his legacy lives on and he makes more money dead than a lot of artist do living.

I didn't much like Elvis in the mid-60s, but when he came back he was great. Unfortunately, he lost his edge (all of them, actually) as he became a bloated caricature of himself. It's painful to listen to Way Down...it almost seems like he knew his days were numbered.
There was no one else like him...I will never forgive Tom Parker for mismanaging him. His later movies are dreck.
