I've tried to obey the "no back to back" rule, but I don't know if I can wait much longer for someone to post.

Anyway this version of the song "Smile" I discovered due to the jazz thread. It has a certain poignancy because the singer went deaf at 18 and she has a nice voice. (I seem to prefer female voices)

I wept the first time I heard this song, Love is Stronger than Death by the The (like others, I want this played at my funeral.) It's off from their cd, Dusk, and it's one of the best cds I own. It was released in '93 and I've been listening to it ever since as it never seems to get old. Matt Johnson wrote Love is Stronger than Death about the death of his brother. He is a genius and the whole cd is simply spectacular, but a word of warning as it's pretty deep, dark and probes themes of love, loss, lust, desperation, loneliness, alienation, etc.

Bro-Hymn (tribute) - by Pennywise: This one was adapted and played in memory of friend and bassist Jason Matthew Thirsk who committed suicide before the band wrote the album "Full Circle"

Wings for Marie - by Tool: Debatably this song is about Maynard Keenan's recently deceased mother... To me it seems like Maynard (an outspoken agnostic/athiest) trying to deal with the passing of his mother and even looking to religion to help cope. Very emotional.

Hurt - by Nine inch Nails: A look back on when your selfishness caused severe pain to your most beloved friends/ loved ones. If that never happened to you, good, but you may not be moved by this song...

Us - by Regina spektor: I dont know why, and honestly don't know what this song is even about, but this one gets me teared up, it is just so powerful. somehow upbeat in the face of pain. We are of course living in a den of thieves...

This video is a tribute to Jimi and Stevie as well as Fender USA. Not a word is spoken or sung, but the sounds from SRV#1 GET YOU!

This video is documentation of SRV#1. Knowing who used to play it and the tune is emotional as you look at it.
