Default S l a y e r !!!

After almost 30 years the greatest Heavy Metal band ever to play sold out shows to arenas worldwide has officially decided it's time to hang up the axe and pentagrams I hear they will record one more evil piece of beautiful TRUE metal and do a few tours and that's the end.
I have been a fan since 1986. They have been with me through middle school, high school, college, and into the fabulous world of adulthood and still to this day I can put in ANY album of theirs and manage to **** off the masses!!! Hahaha!! That part of me refuses to "grow up."
With all the garbage rap and country and all that trendy pop junk that the mainstream calls music, it's sad to see the greatest staple in rebellious music retire.
I'm not trying to hate all those music types I listed, it's just frustating to see my favorite band call it quits because they think they are too old.

Any fans out there in CD Ville?

I've said it before - I love Slayer with all my heart.
However, I don't mind them quitting. Sometimes a band needs to hang it up and I definitely don't want Slayer to be the Aerosmith of Thrash (anyway I think metallica already has that covered).
Slayer have managed to make some good music in their later years but, for me, all I need is their first five or so albums. Hopefully they all have plenty of money to live out their lives on - maybe I should go purchase a new copy of Hell Awaits just for good measure.

You know, your right. I have also run that through my mind as well. It's better they go out with a bang than being all old and wrinkly trying to sing about hating christians and the world. It would just seem fake having it come from senior citizens. Slayer has never been a BS type of band, when they say they are doing something they do it. I bet they will never even have a "come back" tour in future years. I bet once they disappear it will be forever. STill sad.

That's sad news. I LOVE Slayer...although their last few efforts haven't been that great.

Wow! I did not know that, that is sad. I read in a zine last year that Kerry said he didnt want to stick around if they werent kicking *** like they used to. At least i got to see them about 10 times over the last 22 years. However in true metal fans-THE SLAYER WILL NEVER DIE!!! And yes i am a metal dork-but i dont care.......
