amazing how the words Hurly gurly

Actually it's gurdy not "girly"

Thrown like a star in my vast sleep
I open my eyes to take a peep
To find that I was by the sea
Gazing with tranquillity.
'Twas then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
Came singing songs of love,
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
Came singing songs of love

Do you think this song could be about Jesus?

Matthew 4:18-22
Jesus Calls His First Disciples

18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

yikes... Thanks for correcting me. as to Jesus...
:: comes back and really thinks about tis... ::

could be!... I Never considered it! ... I thought tho
of a messianic figure or avatar that would
address the concerns of this world's direction...

YouTube - Hurdy Gurdy Man - Donovan

Now you REALLY got me thinkin! The Songs of
Love, in which case, would be symbolic of the
Man? hmmmm.... let me hear that song again...

:: controls the "voracious" need of his mind to
now tear apart every root of the word "hurdy
gurdy"... mind is like a wild beast at time...
answers in wonderment... :: ... could be after all...
why yes...understanding it as "Gurdy" has changed
everything!

(groans... break over... back to work but with a
mystery now!)

Yes I do That's what made me think about the analogy. The hurdy-gurdy man was quite an attraction and impossible to ignore. Like this guy walking down the beach where people are going about their daily work, and he gets them to immediately drop what they're doing and follow him. Must have been quite an unusual fellow. As for "songs of love", Jesus' message was based on loving your neighbor which was a big shift from the practices of the day. (From what I remember from bible study ) I liked the reexamination of this person when I returned to church after 35 years away. Seeing with new "old" eyes, instead of those of my youth. And I believe the story of "new wine in old wineskins" was pretty cool as Jesus is basically saying that "from now on, things are going to be different." Which of course brought him to the attention of the authorities as a revolutionary and things did not turn out well for him after that. Unfortunately, my bible study ended as 3 1/2 years of insults and put-downs by the arrogant, contemptuous "Pastor" of the church I went to took its toll and I stopped going. A main stream, protestant church - boy! churches sure have changed since I was young! Sorry for the long story - don't know where that came from
