Eminem was good before he got carried away attacking celebrities. His first two albums were more personal and thoughtful. I wish he would return to that. I still like him though. His music just lacks the substance it had earlier in his career. Don't need to hear the celebrity insults.

Eminem is a genius in his own right. He feeds off of the people like those on this board who bash and hate him. How could he not be in the busines, he is one of the greatest rappers of all-time. Pure genius.

Yes! I love that he channeled the negative side of his situation into something really positive the way he has.

I actually went and hunted his CDs out the other day when this thread appeared and was surprised to discover I'd purchased two of his albums. I thought I only had one. Anyway, I got the Marshall Mathers CD and the eminem show and I've been playing them both a lot the last few days. Good stuff! Oh and if not for Stan I'd never have gotten into Dido.

Yes, me too! But then I'm thinking (judging from your username) we have other musical tastes in common.

I don't like all of his stuff but some of it I find really interesting!

Darn, I couldn't rep you again so I could ramble on some more lol. I'd bet we have a lot in common as far as music goes. I'll listen to just about anything; I admit it. So whoever else you like, there's a great chance I like them too -- even if it's just a song or two.

His music is pretty immature.

haha! I dunno I can get a bit dorky in my music choices.

I swing from classical, to big band and show tunes, to Al Jolson, Patsy Cline all the way through to Abba, Tool, Jewel and Marilyn Manson.

There are things I can get into and things I cannot. I struggle a lot with repetative stuff.

I really love music with clever lyrics and songs that tell a story. I think it depends entirely on my mood also. Yesterday was all about Eminem but today I'm on a 80s and 90s Dance track binge!

Ah, I think we'll get along fabulously when it comes to this because your tastes are as eclectic as mine! I'll have to find some way to dish about music with you more (since I'm about to go to bed ), even if I have to sneak back into this thread to do it. Shhh!!

Well then! Maybe if we added an eminem song to the end of each post, we'd still be on topic? OR maybe we should see if we can start a music "chew the fat" thread?

YouTube - Eminem - Without Me

Anyhoo, its been great discussing tunes and I look forward to doing it again. Sweet dreams. Hope the rabbit drops by!
