It's a hard choice, but I'd say Sky Pilot by Eric Burdon & the Animals is right up there with the best.

Nice choices from Midnight Oil, Lady Ice.
I always loved their passionate expression.

My favorite has already been named, Masters of War; I especially appreciate Eddie Vedder's rendering of that song.

Desertsun41 is right. It is a CLASSIC from the summer of 1968. One of my all time favorite songs!

The last bit of lyrics says it all: "A young soldier so ill, looks at the sky pilot, remember the words, 'Thou Shalt Not Kill".
