The Original Sins, The Crack Babies, The Creatures of the Golden Dawn, The Psychlone Rangers, and Zen For Primates. These are just a few. Google The Original Sins. Possibly the best American 80's band that no one ever heard of.

The Teeth were also great and more recent. They just broke up last year. They had a national following. Videos all over Youtube. Their site is probably still active. Stats about all US cities - real estate, relocation info, house prices, home value estimator, recent sales, cost of living, crime, race, income, photos, education, maps, weather, houses, schools, neighborhoods, and more

Bob Schneider is technically from up north somewhere, but years ago he made his home in Austin, TX. I've seen that guy live in concert twice, and I've probably listened to every single song he's ever written. Some of it's kinda bad, but mostly it's just quirky enough to be interesting without detracting from the musical quality.
