What ever happened to these guys? They had some great mandolin players. I'm a guitar player but I still have my great grandpa's mandolin that is dated about 1900-1905. I want to play it but I am scared to even touch it very much because of how old it is. I should by a new one and try it!
Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Nick Cave, the Flaming Lips, Rush, etc. only had one "hit" but no one would call them one hit wonders due to their long careers. Likewise no one would call the Grateful Dead a one hit wonder because of their long career.
Then there are acts who only had one hit in the US but had hits elsewhere, and vice versa - for example, outside of the US and Canada, Crosby Stills & Nash were a "one hit wonder" ("Marrakesh Express" being their only international hit). In the USA, Gary Glitter was a one hit wonder as a performer, but he was hardly a one hit wonder in Britain or Australia.
