Are there any modern bands out there that have a classic metal sound?

I mean regular 80's metal, such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc.

They released quite a few albums in the 1980's, and in that decade had what is regarded as an "80's sound".

Why not just listen to the old metal bands?

I do indeed, but how many times can one listen to Master of Puppets, Screaming for Vengeance, and so on without wanting something new?

You just cannot recreate the hayday of metal. They're trying to do that with 80's pop music right now. It's not working. With the exception of Disturbed, Korn, Shinedown and Seether, you will always find something from the 80's metal genre in my CD player. You cannot beat the best:

Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Priest, Slayer, AC/DC, Sepultura, Testament, Queensryche, Ratt, KISS, and so on.

And for the record, several of the bands listed above went soft, commercial or deviated from their original style after a certain album as well. (Ex - Metallica, anything after Justice), Megadeth after Rust in Peace, Anthrax after Persistence of Time, Slayer after Divine Intervention and Maiden after Seventh Son. All hail the Metal Gods of the 80,s.
