Zola Taylor, the original female member of the popular 50's group The Platters
has died. Zola who was the second wife of singer Frankie Lymon, who had the hit Why Do Fools Fall in Love, was with the group from 1954/64.

The movie of the same name Why Do Fools Fall In Love, was about the dispute over music rights to the song, claimed by three women, Zola Taylor won that right on appeal and was played in the movie by Halle Berry.

The sounds of doowop are still alive today.
