Mine as well Zonababe!

I don't know if RCA was clued in to what the Airplane was evolving to, considering the success of those monster chart hit singles off Surrealistic, but the last thing they were gonna be none for is the 3 minut max top ten chart hit 45. After Bathing At Baxters and Crown of Creation were great lp's. There were a couple 45's from each lp that were released from these lp's but their music was a LONG ways off from Takes Off, and I mean that in a positive way.

There is nothing wrong with hating certain styles of music. Call me close-minded, but I will never be able to appreciate 99.9 percent of Rap, Post-grunge or nu-metal. It just doesnt sound good to me.

I couldn't agree more. I might make it 95% rather than 99.9%, just to be nice.

Last time I listened to Surrealistic Pillow, I was impressed with how folk-sounding it seemed, as opposed to the druggy psychedelic sound I remember. Maybe it was me. (!)

Moody Blues are still going and I still enjoy hearing the CD's. The group just finished up a live concert in NYC.

Their "Nights in white satin" is one of their great songs we love hearing again and again.....

Does anyone like Levon Helm? What about Levon Helms and his Midnight Rambling sessions?

Unbelievable. His band is smooth and gives us a "gotta move to da music" feeling...

I think he is fantastic and a certified legend.

I've yet to meet a serious musician that was 1/2 as uptight about defending musical genre boundaries and imagined band rankings as these self righteous, defensive fans riding on coattails and boostering music they had absolutely no hand in making.

But whatever floats yer boat.

You can't force people to appreciate different kinds of music...
it's just sad when someone has so little to feel good about they base their self worth on their appreciation of one band.

S'all I'm saying.
brubaker, you are one of my favorite posters here in the music forum.
