I'm assuming there have to be some ANIME fans here among us younger people.. But.. How many of you are into J-Music? K-Music?

Japanese rock, pop etc.. I think I'm addicted!

Anybody else?

I like anime, but don't know exactly what you are talking about with the music. School us please; inquiring minds want to know.

Well - Alot of anime fans I know have gotten really big into Japanese music, along with korean music.

Hence the J-music and K-music references. I've done the same, and I was just wondering how many people here have as well.

I'm a senior in college and I'm Asian but most of my friends aren't. My favorite genre is contemporary country. Country music has made huge inroads among college and high school aged peopel, which I think is a good thing because it promotes good values like family, religion, and patriotism and respect for the military compared to things like rap or heavy metal.

Other common genres among my friends are rock, classic rock and hip hop/rap. Nobody here listens to foriegn music besides exchange students or unassimilated Asians and Hispanics.

I noticed it to be very common in a lot of young Asian-Americans [high school aged mostly]. The beats and music are very catchy and somewhat futuristic. It's just hard to understand a lot of it. I give it 5 years until our singers start making music like that, even though some already have.

I've always liked "Tank!" by Yoko Kanno. It's the theme song to Cowboy Bebop.

I listen to some Japanese metal bands, does that count? Although, I'm not what you call part of the "younger" crowd - I'm 31.
