Kinda confused... youre looking for "bada$$ Christian rock". A bit of an oxymoron, wouldnt you think?
No I don't think it is an oxymoron. Many bands play together to get out frustrations and have fun. I don't like the typical Christian rock. I prefer the more metal Christian music. Also the apostles James and John were called Boanerges, which meant "sons of thunder" on account of their tempers. The Bible says there is a time and place for everything. Music doesn't always have to be calm and relaxing to make a good point. Every believer has a different way of manifesting the faith. Some do it through anger and wrath, some through love, some through many different ways, some through only their actions.
Lastly I do not think POD is Christian. They're Rastafari which believes that the Ethiopian Emperor who already died was the Messiah. POD has a lot of feel good spiritual lyrics, but thats about it. I question their integrity. They seem like they're more concerned with concealing their beliefs to stay under a certain label than they're concerned with being forthright.
With that said I cant find many Christian bands that appeal to my tastes. I listened to Demon Hunter for awhile. It doesn't sound Christian to me at all. If anything its really watered down if they're making any kind of point. Which I cant find in their music. Off the top of my head I have been listening to:
The Devil Wears Prada
As I Lay Dying
Seventh Star
I understand those bands to have a CLEAR indication of where they stand. Of course im always looking for more Christian music. Its just very hard to find if you ask me. I listen to all kinds of music, mostly what people would call secular. Maybe im wrong for that I don't know. I cant tell you for certain. But I grew up with a dad that plays rock/heavy metal on the guitar. And Metal is what moves me most of the time. Plus I don't think only bands under a Christian label are the only believers. I'm not telling anyone what to do. I'm just saying the harder the better for me. It's what I understand. I convict myself for the things ive done when I listen to Metal, not just the world. It seems to tear through hypocritical barriers for me. I just make sure it doesn't have a universalist message behind it, or that it doesn't have a really watered down view.

Creed was not a Christian band. Mentioning God and spirituality in your lyrics from time to time does not automatically make you a Christian group. Scott Stapp is a nutcase.
IMO, there are very few actual "Christian" artists. Petra and Casting Crowns are legit, as is Stephen Curtis Chapman. A lot of the other ones wouldn't know Christ from Coldplay if both were literally right in front of them.
Die Happy"volume 2", Red Sea,Applehead, the"newer"Alice Cooper(Brutal Planet,etc)-he is a bornagain christian now,check out those lyrics! Also there is Sometime Sunday,the album "Stone",(before they turned alterno). Tourniquet"Vanishing Lessons",David Benson,Last Chapter,Solitude Aeturus"Beyond the Crimson Horizon",Trouble"The Skull",Veni Domine,The Rez Band, Sacred Warrior,Seventh Avenue,Ordained Fate.Send me a message if you want to know more,especially heavier bands.
I don`t get it??
Why would you wear a cross if not Christian???
They were wearing them as accessories to "enhance" their look. They are about as Christan as cockroaches. Sort of an early Goth. They didn't fool me then and they don't fool me now.
