I agree. I also think bands should start suing these neo-con talk show host who are using their songs as bumper music. Case in point, today sitting here board oping Laura Ingraham I was shocked to hear that she had the audacity to use a Lucinda WIlliams song. Unbelievable!

This will be very interesting to follow.

I understand alot of people would think the resort of playing Rock music is way better than water torture, nails being pulled out etc.

I think the Rockers maybe should re-think the can of worms that might come out. If they sue the U.S Military for money, they might be looked at as Un-patriotic. What if they do sue and win? Will they try to go after citizen's also that might have a block party blasting their music at an event they do not support? HMMMMMMMM!

Very interesting!

Talk about putting your artistic soul out there!!!!
I know everyone has certain bands that they consider torture to have listen to, could you imagine if YOUR band was one that the government decided was TORTUROUS?!?!

Man, that would totally suck.

Maybe you try to ride a patriotic wave: "Uncle Sam got forty percent more confessions using our music than that of our competitors."

Didn't the U.S. military use Metallica to get Manuel Noriega to surrender?

There is no audacity involved at all...groups like ASCAP, BMI and SESAC make sure the artist gets their commission.

I don't think Pearl Jam or REM need to worry about it...Fall out Boy and Nickleback, on the other hand, I am sure someone during the Bush years probably used them as a form of torture, however. If that is not against the Geneva Convention, then what is?

Vic lurks, and wham! Good post.

All they have to to is play most anything what is offered in commercial American airplay, but I can turn it off before I'll talk. I guess that is one of my last freedoms...members of Al-Q in custody do not have that luxury...
