Daddy and I carry the children into bed, hug them tightly, kiss each one of their foreheads....and tuck them in...we stand arms around each other, my head against Daddy's chest, smiling down at our wonderful family....
Get to the door, turn out the light, just the glow of Lady Liberty's torch
gently illuminating the room...
Daddy points up to the door frame.. who hung the mistletoe up there? Smile, put my arms around his neck, and look into those deep eyes....

The kids are all tucked into bed....so excited for the big day...
We join the others in the family room and kitchen...some still dressed in their 20's garb...what a fun evening it was...getting ready for this Christmas celebration! Making sure everything is wrapped and under the tree....see Auntie Topaz has been shaking the presents again.....I wondered who the children learned that from....
Doing my own little checklist:
Presents wrapped-check
Special present for Daddy-out of reach of the children-check
More food and drink than could ever be consumed ready in the kitchen, on the tables, everywhere there is a flat open space-check
Jim, shyangel, and Tommy's stockings hung on the fireplace-check
The cookies and milk for Santa are set by the fireplace-check
Fingering the beads on my favorite bracelet, blue and green and silver, something I always do, when I'm trying to concentrate....smile...remembering that day....my darling girl child...shyangel.... made it for me....lost in a summer memory....
I must of dozed off....looking around at everyone else, and they are all wiping their eyes, like they just woke up as well, everyone with a dream-like smile on their face...
Satisfied that everything is ready for tomorrow, I turn back to the Christmas tree.....and there are presents that weren't there before...and the stockings are all full...and the cookies and milk are gone...and I look over at Daddy...and he just shakes his head in disbelief, as if to say it wasn't me....he goes over to the security camera, and cues it up......
